I found the talk on Whirlwind particularly interesting.
(The “Cape Cod System” in just 256 words of code is particularly impressive. On the other hand, the idea of loading the entire Dowding system, including Filter Room, and Operations Room, and Sector Control, on a lone operator, a display, and 256 words of code is somewhat alarming.)
And, of course, shoutout to co-forumist @larsbrinkhoff and his talk on the “Incompatible Timesharing System” (ITS) on the PDP-6 and PDP-10!
