Computer graphics and space exploration (video)

Scott Manley shows off some animations, from Apollo to Voyager and beyond. Some vector graphics, some texture mapping, bump mapping, displacement mapping and even some particle effects.

The video discusses some of the difficulties of modelling Saturn and its rings - which is timely, because there’s been a recent and very interesting investigation into Elite’s code for doing the same:
