My name is William (Bill). I’m 74 years old. I’ve been in computers since 1968, first IBM mainframes from 1970-1987, then in 1980 got into home computers, 8-bit, etc. I’ve been building and programming ever since.

I currently own a restored 1984 Apple IIe, a Radio Shack Color Computer 2, a Color Maximite computer, a restored IBM Aptiva 2153-E2N from 1997 running DOS 6.22, a restored 2009 Acer Veriton x480g desktop running Windows 7. I also run Windows 11 on a modern laptop.

Back in the day, I owned a TRS-80 Model I and wrote a feature article for TRS-80 News.

I’m into emulators of all kinds, recently trying SIMH for the 8080 CPU.

I’m still fairly fluent with 8-bit assembly languages, notably for 6502 and 6809. In the 1970s, I wrote assembly language for the IBM 360 & 370 mainframes. I’ve also written in Fortran and PL/I.
