Updated Tektronix 4404 emulator

I’ve updated the disk image for the Tektronix 4404 emulator package to include some experiments I’ve been doing with writing device drivers in the last few months.

You too can run what was a $14,500 workstation in 1982 right on your PC or Mac.

Splendid!

Anyone know of these systems?

I’m curious why the 4404 works in this version of MAME and not current MAME 0.286. Have you made modifications that weren’t accepted into the main branch?
I’ve been trying to get this running on “regular” MAME and constantly being met with baffling problems.

I know I can simply download the zip, I have downloaded the zip and am comparing differences, but I also don’t want 2 entirely separate copies of MAME with one supporting everything but the 4404 and the other supporting only the 4404.

Yeah, you can build from my branch too: GitHub - Elektraglide/mame: MAME

But yes I have tried endlessly to get my branch merged and have given up.. the sad thing is there are some amazing peeps in the MAME community.. but also some rather toxic ones too.

Just pushed a new updated Tektronix 4404 emulator package built off latest MAME code base (with my Tek4404 emu additions on top).

Mac, Windows and Ubuntu ready-built executables + required disk image.
