The Tube Computer

Hello Everyone, I’ve just built an 8 bit vacuum tube computer. I finished it last weekend. I think I found the website more difficult to build than the computer and I am told I held the mobile round the wrong way for the video! If you have any comments for improvements of the website please tell me.
If you do get the time please have a look at http://www.TheTubeComputer.com

Kind Regards Mike

Nixie tube front panel comes to mind, Hex version?
Nice to see a finished Valve computer working.

what a great project! I read through your whole site and was amused the whole time. As a product manager, who frequently also has to do project manage-y things, I loved the bit about physically writing out your plans and using labels to revise those plans. Do you have a photograph of the final state of your project management board?

A slow, tedious and quite lengthy task in the 1960’s was “dismantle this Bloodhound” missile so it cannot be reconstructed" - so many diodes, gears, amplifiers and very miniature valves -the end result was a large heap of 50’s -60’s components - originally an analogue guidance system but Rubix would have readily juggled the bits into something digital and enough left over to make an egg-timer too; Your perseverance, ingenuity and artistic flair are to be commended and it has been a delight to read about all your projects. Thank You.
