Teleram Portabubble/81 terminal from 1981

From the Terminals wiki (photos within!), the Teleram Portabubble/81

The Teleram Portabubble/81 terminal was introduced in April, 1981. In March, 1983 a trade-in program was available to reduce the price from $5,395.

I spotted this in a trailer for It’s Quieter in the Twilight:

In an unremarkable office space, a select group of aging engineers find themselves at the leading edge of discovery. Fighting outdated technology and time, Voyager’s flight-team pursues humankind’s greatest exploration.

What did Teleram do next? Well, in 1984 they made the Teleram T-3000 a truly portable CP/M machine as seen in Creative Computing Magazine (January 1984) - with a 4x80 char LCD, and bubble memory for ROM.

Performance: Very easy to use. Communications program is excellent.

Ease of Use: Very easy.

Documentation: User’s Guide CP/M reference book are excellent.

Price: $2,495

Summary: You get a lot for the price, but the competition offers more for less. The bubble memory is flawless, expandable to 256K.

Overall Mark: B
