8bitnews was an awesome weekly newsletter but no new issues have been published since the late 2023.

In the last few issues the editors mentioned pressing personal needs and questioned whether the publication was stiil relevant given the growth of retrocomputing resources such as Two Stop Bits. Still, 8bitnews had a distinctive voice and every issue covered at least a few projects or resources none of the major sources had shared online.

I just wanted to add the 8bitnews editors didn’t explicitly say they were going to end publications but this is what effectively happened.

Well, that’s not great… I’ve signed up anyway just in case they come up with a new project and announce it that way. And in the meantime, in theory, I could look over nearly 100 previous issues!

BTW, if anyone here sees anything interestingly suitable for this forum, please share it here - we don’t all look at all the same sites.

Not sure if this has been mentioned here before, but The Digital Antiquarian is a good site for reading, browsing and still has updates…
