I just succeeded to assemble, upload and run my first program on the SPC16/10 board from Jos.
See: First program for the SPC16/10
Thanks Jos!

In preparation for (somewhat) more serious programs, I made an instruction mnemonic list geared to the P851M at https://electrickery.nl/comp/philipsP851M/instructionListSort2.txt . The PDF of the ‘Instruction Set (Extended Specification)’ has now bookmarks to make navigation less tedious (https://electrickery.nl/comp/philipsP851M/doc/P800InstructionSet.pdf ).
The instruction set is quite powerful, as Jos mentioned, maybe even better than the PDP-11 instruction set.

The nice thing is over the PDP-11 is that you have more working registers.
Like the 11, it seems complex instruction sets, it only delayed 16 bitters from going to 32 bits for a few years
because of address and data size limitations.Just ample time to develop a MOS chip.
