Another chance to connect to TSS, by ssh or on a web page, run by the SDF:
-= How to CONNECT =-
ssh [email protected]
w/ an SSH client
-or-
https://ssh.sdf.org and login as ‘tss8’Once you’ve connected, follow the instructions to login to TSS/8.
It’s a little bit of a maze: the SDF have a front end to allow access to a number of vintage machines and operating systems, and there’s a flow which takes you into creating a new account, but having explored I think you can get to the PDP-8/i without needing or using your own SDF account - indeed tss8 is the account name you need. (But if you do sign up, you can get a shell account, webmail, and file space for a nominal donation.)
Of course, a maze is just what we like!
Command crib here.
I see someone is running FOCAL:
Welcome to SDF!
Please enter an SDF hostname or press [ENTER]
[sdf.org]: tss8
if new, login as 'new' ..
login: tss8
Connecting to ssh://tss8@tss8:22
Welcome to TSS-8!
When you type a LOGIN command, the text will not be displayed.
To login type: **LOGIN 20,3 TSS8**
There are limited port connections, so the system may be busy. If so,
please try back later.
See https://wiki.sdf.org for a user command cheat sheet.
