The August 2024 WROCC Meeting was held on Zoom and uploaded to YouTube:
Paul Reuvers is the Director of X-Ample Technology (XAT) in The Netherlands.
In a fascinating talk, Paul tells us about his involvement, over many years, with the Acorn RISC OS platform.
Interesting! Especially that Acorn (in the person of Tim Dobson) allowed a developer to have an extended visit to help smooth over any technical difficulties.
The Big Ben Club is mentioned as still being active: here’s their website. (I’ve only just realised their name is BBC!)
And I note that WROCC itself dates from 1983
There’s a relatively new and increasingly well-populated wiki for Acorn’s 32 bit offerings, perhaps a nice entry point is this big tabulation of the various machines, with their dates and specs: Acorn computer specification comparison - Arc Wiki
(PYE International get a mention - a British company from 1896, acquired by Philips in 1967. Made Scientific & Analytical Instruments, as well as domestic radios, televisions, and similar)
Edit: a nice deskie in the presentation, about 50min in
