New to this forum. I have an old Pro Audio Spectrum 16 ISA card I’ve had in storage for about 25 years. It has the model # 650-0022-01-G . Everything I can find on these cards says there are only revisions A-F. Manufacturing date on both the circuit board and the chips show 1992. It has the usuals: A DB15 MIDI/game port, the Line In & Out and Mic in, as well a CD in and speaker out, and a 50-Pin SCSI, etc. It definitely shows the “G” very prominently and it couldn’t be any other letter. The card has only been put into a system once, and has never had power applied. Anyone know where I can find info on this? Are there any differences from the Revision F?
Welcome! I think a visual comparison is the way to do it, either with the hardware or the best photos you can find.
A G revision towards the end of life of a product seems to me likely to mean one of two things: a component substitution, or a cost reduction. Possibly of course this G revision is not seen because it didn’t work well or had some incompatibility.
As ever, I’d suggest you post over at VCFed forums, if you haven’t already. There might also be other venues, but what you need is somewhere with people who have interests in the ISA PC era. Here is probably too small and outside that speciality to find an answer - although that’s just a guess.
Interesting. I’m not familiar with VCFed forums. I just Googled Retro Computing forums, and posted in the first place that came up. I’ll see if one of the results says “VCFed forums”.
