IBM Personal Computer 750: POST Code 175 and no access to BIOS

I have an IBM PC 750 PCI on the bench that doesn’t pass POST and can’t enter BIOS: the machine will pass the RAM check just fine and then drop out with an “175 System board failure – Elementary system data CRC 1”.

The HMM advises to run the configuration utility in case of 175 errors but regardless of when I press F1, the only thing that’ll happen is it will go straight to the aforementioned error and the option to enter BIOS via F1 will disappear from the screen.

I also removed the riser card, but the same thing happens.

Moreover, I am able to add: The 3,5 floppy doesn’t flinch on boot-up (no blinking LED, no drive noise, no change on inserting a disk). The voltages are fine, though (+5V and +12V). The IDE HDD, too, doesn’t budge – it will spin up fine, so the voltage is there, but no access light (which is connected).

Do I have a corrupted BIOS?

I have no real clue where to look next. Any ideas?
