IBM 701 PACT Compiler

Hi All

I’m Roberto, a RetroComputing fan and emulator writer.
My interest is in very old sw for very old computers, mainly in 1950-1960 time frame.

I’ve just re-created PACT I compiler for IBM 701 based on original doc from CBI archives. It is a pre-fortran language (1955), AFAIK first true compiler con an IBM machine. You can download it from https://github.com/rsanchovilla/SimH_cpanel

Does any of you guys have any information on any IBM 701 software?

Best Regards
Roberto

Welcome, and thanks for sharing! I’m pleased to find I can run ibm701.exe in WINE:

(By first launching wineconsole.exe and then navigating in the DOS-like environment and running the provided bat file.)

Hi. Thanks, happy to be there.
Wow looks great on your Mac! Any issue found?

No issues found, but I should confess I haven’t explored.

The PACT I rang no bells for me but I found this: The PACT I Coding System for the IBM Type 701
