Includes some interesting memories of the LGP-30 for which the BASIC compiler was first written.

Extensive footage of how BASIC was instrumental in the creation of the Dartmouth Time Shared System DTSS

Shameless shill: About two years ago, I wrote what was meant to be a comprehensive blog post on the LGP-30. May be interesting in context…

ECP - 18 I think is nicer drum computer for teaching , You could build this drum computer as long as one had good machine shop around. BASIC needs a bigger
machine and drum computers are very slow for any large (at the time) computing.
