Adventures with Minitel terminals

John Graham-Cumming is on a journey to refit a Minitel terminal with custom firmware and use as a smart(ish) terminal, or perhaps even as a computer, rather than the dumb character terminal that it was originally. This is seriously impressive computing for a tiny terminal that was to be had for free!

Edit: Now, I wonder, had there been any contemporary Minitel-hacking back in the day?
(Why would you even consider buying a home computer, if you could do things like these on your free Minitel?)
