A South Australia C64 model

Some discussion about this in the Mastodon thread.

Picked up this strange looking C64 this morning.

It is a South Australian model, the case made by a company in that state and usually has a breadbin board inside of it. I was told it isn’t working, but hopefully should be easy to fix, or just replace the board.

Interestingly on the back of it near the cartridge port is a spot labelled for a reset button. Might have to put one in that space.

Sorry for being ascinated by the least retro computing related aspect: what is the story behind this not only having been produced in Australia, but specifically in South Australia? Does anyone know? (Also, does this mean that it was produced for the domestic market only?)
